It’s one of my favorite times of the year. Spring has finally arrived, the birds are chirping, and Way Day is here, running from May 4-6.
These facts correlate more than you think, as I need to give my backyard some TLC to enjoy the nice weather to the fullest. Embarrassingly, it’s pretty much still a blank slate, even though I’ve lived here for two years.
On Way Day, there’s going to be savings of up to 80% plus free shipping, so there’s no time like the present for me to remedy the issue.
Here’s what’s currently sitting in my Wayfair cart, ready for purchase come Way Day.
There’s something so whimsical and nostalgic about this lantern set. They’re also solar-powered, which means that I can hang them anywhere that I want to add a nice warm glow. They will look perfect hanging from the tree next to my hammock.
As far as outdoor furniture goes, it doesn’t get more classic than an Adirondack chair. The shape naturally encourages you to lean back and relax, so they are perfect to place around a firepit. I love that this one is made of solid wood rather than flimsy plastic.
This outdoor dining set is really going to elevate my weekend breakfast experience, so it’s definitely going on my front porch. The cushions make it look super comfy, and the table itself would look great with a tablecloth for special occasions. I also think it’s neat how the chairs have a shape similar to the ones you see in all the public parks in Paris.
Okay, I am actually glad I don’t have a fire pit yet because I didn’t even know one like this existed. It doubles as a grill and a table. It would be so nice to be able to cook a meal for friends while chatting with them next to the fire at the same time.
One of the best ways to make a deck or patio feel instantly cozier is with an outdoor rug. Between the natural colors and the pattern, this one won’t show dirt as quickly as some others. It’s also stain resistant (a.k.a: it’s red wine friendly).
I’m honestly pretty picky about patio lounge furniture, which is why I haven’t bought a set yet. It needs to be the perfect balance of stylish yet cozy, and I think this acacia wood set nails it in both departments. Plus, the cushion covers are removable for easy cleaning.
This deck storage box is going to be a very practical purchase. It will be great for storing patio cushions before a storm, plus all those stray flower pots I’ve been keeping in the basement. If you have a pool, I could also see it being a good spot to stow away your pool cleaning supplies.
Did I mention that I’ve been having to store my flower pots in my basement? That’s because, unfortunately, I don’t have a garden shed. I can’t believe the great price of this one. It will be the perfect size for putting all my rakes and shovels inside, plus who knows what else. It’s made out of treated galvanized steel, so it’s rust-resistant and ready to stick around for the long haul.
Back porch lights are obviously very functional, but they’re also often a missed design opportunity. I love how sleek and modern this one is, but it also features some nice extra details like the beveled glass. The key to maintaining the beautiful look would be to commit to buying warm Edison bulbs since see-through nature begs for a neat bulb.
If I’m updating my back porch light I might as well update my front porch light while I’m at it. This one has a lovely vintage-inspired charm, which will look great next to my porch swing. It even has a built-in dusk-to-dawn photocell, so I won’t have to remember to flip it on and off every morning and night.
It’s always been a dream of mine to have a large outdoor dining table for hosting. It’s also expandable with a self-storing piece, so I won’t have to cut the invite list short. I think it would look wonderful paired with a set of black iron chairs.
Who doesn’t love a good game of cornhole? This set would make a great addition to any backyard barbecue. It has a compact design, so you could even take it to a friend’s house.
Next time you’re driving through a nice neighborhood in the evening, pay attention to the outdoor lighting. It adds so much to a home’s curb appeal, and it also helps guests feel more welcome. I’m obsessed with the beautiful copper finish on this solar-powered set.
This is the year I’m really getting into gardening, so I think it would be a good idea to invest in a rain barrel like this one. Not only is watering plants with rainwater good for the environment, but it’s also great for them.
I’m the lucky owner of a spacious porch, but all that’s currently missing is this adorable rocking chair set. It has a classic-meets-modern design and cozy cushions. I plan on enjoying many glasses of lemonade while rocking away this summer.
