This camera is good, easy to install and setup. I bought the premium online package with unlimited number of camera. Now, I have 7 cameras with the cloud service but just pay for the price of 3 cameras.

Very happy with the Ring Spotlight Camera. I am able to monitor activity at my front door, each time I receive a notification of motion I check what has set the camera off. I can see when packages are delivered and who comes and goes in my driveway. Set up was very easy with great instructions. The automatic light feature is great and being able to speak through the camera and alarm feature added bonus.

Work great. Only down side is spotlight could be brighter on maximum setting. I guess there is a balance with battery life as well but not an issue with solar attached.

I installed a few of these around my property to give me some video coverage. They aren't as good at night as the bigger spotlight cam, but they still light up and capture video well enough and the fully wireless connectivity makes it super easy to set up. Just add them via the app from inside with the AC on and then go out and fasten it to wherever you want it. If you have the Ring protect plan with the multi-device package it will just work. The batteries last surprisingly long, but I added a second one to all of mine to make them last even longer. I keep an extra set as well so I can just swap them out and not have to go back to reinstall after they charge up. I may add the solar panel at some point and then they'll be maintenance free for the most part.

The nighttime video quality isn't quite as good, but it's decent. The one that is further away from the house loses some resolution because the signal is weaker. I wish they had onboard memory to buffer some video when upload speed isn't great or during short outages. The only other peeves I have are that the person recognition feature really doesn't work. The one on my dock often mistakes cattails swaying in the breeze for a person. It also seems to lag in picking up boats going by even though I live on a canal and they are fairly close. I usually see the back end of the boat as it is exiting view when the camera finally detects the movement. Maybe that's the person filter working, although there are people on the boat so I am not sure. Luckily I am sure these can improve as updates roll out so maybe it'll improve. Even if not, they are a good value overall since they are so easy to install and the batteries last so long.

The Ring Spotlight has been a fantastic addition to our home security system. The installation was simple and quick, and it synced perfectly with the Ring app. The spotlight is incredibly bright, providing excellent visibility at night, which gives us peace of mind. Plus, it has motion detection that triggers the lights and camera, so you know when someone is approaching before they even reach the door.

The video quality is outstanding—clear and crisp, both during the day and at night. The two-way audio feature is another huge plus, allowing us to talk to visitors or delivery people without needing to open the door. The motion sensitivity can be adjusted, so I’m not getting alerts for every car passing by, but it’s sensitive enough to pick up any movement on my property.

One of the things I appreciate most is the spotlight feature. It not only deters potential intruders but also lights up our yard when needed. The app works flawlessly, giving real-time alerts and making it easy to check the live feed or review past footage.

If you're looking for a security camera with great lighting and advanced features, the Ring Spotlight is an excellent choice.

The quality of these cameras are amazing! We had an older version of these and the picture quality is amazing. Not very hard to install and well worth the money knowing your home is protected.

I recently got Ring cameras and the app, only $9 per month if you buy a year. For anyone complaining, an alarm company will be 50 to 75 bucks per month for a service. Anyway, I love my Ring cameras! I have video doorbell, a few stand up (stick up) cameras, and this outdoor spotlight.

I chose the plug in version, especially since I read reviews of battery not lasting etc.. I ran wire into my garage, drilled out a little channel in door trim. The camera works well, light detects motion and will come on, then off about 20 seconds later if motion stops. No issue with wifi signal even though my wifi extender is probably 25 feet away.

Great cameras. Gives me peace of mind if I am away overnight. Can check on kitty cat too. And if any crime, you have video you can easily download from app and give to police. 👍👍😸

This worked well at first. Then one day no one could hear me anymore when I spoke through the camera. I thought the camera was defective and was going to return it.

It turns out there's a volume setting for this model, in the app, that sometimes needs to be toggled or reset when you update the app. For some reason, app updates turn off the volume on my unit.

My ring indoor wired, and stickup cams do not have a volume setting in the app. Only this spotlight cam. I think it was in the camera's general settings.

This camera can be plugged into an outlet with an optional cord you buy separately. Make sure you buy the right one.

There's slots for 2 batteries. It comes with one battery.

Re comments that said other cameras show this light coming on randomly at night: They might be picking up the infra red night vision light. Your camera can be set to take a picture at intervals, and may turn on infra red to do that, but not necessarily the bright spotlight that comes on when motion is detected.

Also, the motion detection range is smaller than the visual range. (On other models too.) The camera might be able to see and show you someone at the end of your driveway or property, but not sense them or start recording automatically until they're much closer. It seems to recognize movement by sensors, not by visual movement. This is likely why motion detection will not work if a ring camera is inside, behind a window, pointing outside. The window will block the motion sensors, and visual movement alone will not be recognized as motion, and will not trigger the camera to automatically turn on and record, or alert you.

The app has terrible lag and memory issues. It often causes my phone and tablet to hang or freeze. Instead of using back arrows or buttons to stop a live view or change to another camera view, I usually have to quit the app completely, and reopen it.

The cameras will work for live viewing only, if you don't have a subscription. No saved videos without a subscription. Without saved video, you cannot rewind and see what set off the camera, if whatever triggered the camera is gone by the time you look.

At the time I'm writing this, you get a 30 day free trail for each new camera you add, before you sign up for a subscription. Once you have a paid subscription, you cannot get additional free days when you add new cameras.

If you do not have a paid subscription yet, every time you add a new camera, you will have 30 more free trial days, from the date you added your last camera. It will not add 30 days to the end of your existing trial, it will overlap and end 30 days after the last camera was added.

The app used to show the updated last day of your free trial, after you added another camera. A recent app update changed this so it only shows the end date of the free trial that ends first, and will not show if you have an overlapping free trial that actually ends later. You may need to call ring customer support to verify the real end date of your free trial(s).

All your videos will be deleted and immediately unrecoverable if you do not have an active free trial or paid plan. If they overlap, you're fine. But make sure you sign up for a paid plan before the real end date of your free trial, if you dont want to lose your videos.

You have the option to download and save individual videos to your phone/tablet etc. Those wont be deleted if your account ends. Just the ones in the cloud.

Remember that without power and internet, these won't work. If thats a concern, make sure you have a backup power source during outages, and maybe a mobile hotspot to use if you have internet outages.

Overall the camera is good. The app has memory and lag issues which can be annoying. Having to pay for a subscription (if you want recorded videos) is annoying. I wish motion could be detected in the full visual range, by factoring in visual movement beyond the sensor range.

The cameras can be expensive, so wait for sales and bundles.
