Today’s Connections puzzle has one of those purple categories that always make me shake my head a little. I can rarely solve it with no hints, but once I see what the puzzlemakers were doing, I have to admire their creativity. Read on for clues and today’s Connections answers.
The Times now has a Connections Bot, like the one for Wordle. Go there after you play to receive a numeric score and to have the program analyze your answers. And players who are registered with the Times Games section can now nerd out by following their progress, including number of puzzles completed, win rate, number of times they nabbed a perfect score and their win streak.

Here are four hints for the groupings in today’s Connections puzzle, ranked from the easiest, yellow group to the tough (and sometimes bizarre) purple group.
Yellow group hint: Distinctive atmosphere or feeling
Green group hint: Super Bowl snacks
Blue group hint: Get over it
Purple group hint: Like Oslo or London
Yellow group: Intangible quality
Green group: Game day fare
Blue group: Keep going on about, with “on”
Purple group: Starting with European capitals
