It won’t be long until we’ll have all of the best Amazon Prime Day camera deals for 2025 all neatly lined up and compared right here on this page.
While the retailer hasn’t posted exact dates, Amazon has confirmed that Prime Day 2025 will take place in July. That means we could see discounts within the next few weeks on gear from Canon, Sony, Nikon, and many other leading brands.
Once Amazon makes the official announcement, we’ll update this page with confirmed dates – plus any early camera deals worth knowing about.
As with previous Prime Day events, you’ll need an Amazon Prime membership to access the majority of deals. This includes most of the camera discounts that typically go live during the sale. If you’re not already a subscriber, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial to take advantage of the deals well ahead of the big day itself.
Last year’s Prime Day featured some great camera deals, with top brands like Sony, Nikon, and Canon all seeing notable price cuts. Some standout offers included the Sony Alpha a7 IV for $2,299 (down from $2,499), the Nikon Z8 for $3,496.95 (was $3,999), and the Canon EOS R6 Mark II at $1,999 (was $2,499). It wasn’t just Amazon offering great price cuts, either – Adorama, B&H Photo, and many specialist retailers in the UK also offered great price cuts. If we spot those again this year, we’ll be sure to post them here.
Prime Day camera deals 2025: FAQs
When is Prime Day 2025?
Amazon hasn’t officially confirmed the exact dates for its 2025 Prime Day event just yet, but the retailer has announced that the big sale will take place sometime in July. Based on previous years, it’s likely that the two-day shopping event will fall on either July 8–9 or possibly start on July 15. While nothing is set in stone, Amazon tends to stick to a mid-July timeframe for its annual sale, so these are solid predictions.
As soon as the official dates are confirmed, I’ll update this page with all the details. I’ll also be sure to include any particularly good camera deals in the build-up to the big day.
Do you need a Prime membership to shop Amazon’s sale?
In most cases, yes. The majority of Amazon’s Prime Day discounts (including those on cameras) are exclusive to Prime members. That means you’ll need an active Amazon Prime subscription to take advantage of the biggest savings during the event.
If you’re not currently a member, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial, which grants full access to all Prime Day deals. In addition to early and exclusive access to sales, members also get benefits like fast, free shipping and streaming through Prime Video.
What Prime Day camera deals can you expect?
Last year’s Prime Day brought some of the best mid-year discounts, with major discounts on leading brands like Sony, Nikon, and Canon. A number of popular camera bodies hit record-low prices – including some of our favorite models here at TechRadar.
Notable highlights included the Sony Alpha a7 IV for $2,299 (down from $2,499), the Nikon Z8 for $3,496.95 (was $3,999), and the Canon EOS R6 Mark II at $1,999 (was $2,499). These were some of the lowest prices we’d seen on high-end mirrorless cameras, making Prime Day a great time to upgrade your gear.
It’s also worth noting that the best savings weren’t limited to Amazon. Specialist retailers such as Adorama and B&H Photo joined in with competitive offers of their own, and in fact, made up the majority of our recommendations last year.
For this year’s sale, we expect discounts of a similar vein, but the ongoing tariff situation like means we won’t see many record-low discounts on the more recent releases. Nikon and Canon have both announced price changes recently, so we could see these affect deal prices. With that said, I do expect that many retailers will offer deals of similar quality to last year – just don’t expect new massive record lows.

Is Amazon Prime Day the best time to buy a camera?
We usually see a good selection of the big brands on sale over Prime Day – Canon, Sony, Nikon, GoPro, DJI, Panasonic, and OM System to name just a few. Generally speaking, there are good options across the gamut, although deals on Fujifilm cameras are rare due to the brand’s high popularity right now.
In terms of quality, we’d say Amazon Prime Day camera deals can run from fairly good to forgettable. Generally speaking, the retailer loves to discount old stock for Prime Day, which can yield both great deals and forgettable options that are definitely worth skipping over.
However, we usually manage to find a few diamonds in the Prime Day sales and some have cropped up this year, including the GoPro Hero 12 Black. Also, with recent camera launches, there has been a knock-on effect for the prices of what are now older models, such as the Nikon Z6 II.
