All-new Blink Sync Module XR — System hub for all Blink devices, go up to 400 feet from your home with extended range for Outdoor 4

To begin, I must admit that I am not particularly inclined towards writing reviews. However, I have previously experimented with several mailbox notification devices, including the Ring mailbox notification feature, which alerts me to incoming emails via my mailbox. Unfortunately, due to the metal construction of my mailbox, the WiFi signal is unable to penetrate it. I also attempted the X-Sense mailbox notifier, but it proved ineffective in my mailbox.
In contrast, I was pleasantly surprised to encounter the new Blink Sync Module XR. Despite my initial skepticism, I was willing to give it a try to ascertain its functionality. To my astonishment, I was able to observe my mailbox contents even when it was closed using the Blink Sync Module XR. I opted for the extended range XR model rather than the Plus model, which offers greater range, and was pleasantly surprised to discover that I could still access my mailbox and receive notifications.
The only minor inconvenience I encountered was the inability to access live view since it is not connected to WiFi. However, I am willing to accept this limitation. Additionally, I would appreciate it if the limit of two cameras per XR module or the limit of four cameras per two XR modules per account could be removed.
In summary, I found this product to be a success, as it met its advertised capabilities.

My older Sync Module failed or at least I thought it did. So I purchased this new one and I got the same failed to connect error. So I don't know what is wrong but I am SORRY I purchased this item and I am about to scrap all of my BLINK products which I have purchased over time, and they are many. Between the current problems and these cameras' spotty ins and outs, I am frustrated with this whole system. I have cameras from other manufacturers and have had no problems with them. I don't know how Amazon can back these products, they are hard to install and appear inferior to my other camera systems. It is a shame because I have spent a great deal of money on these Blink Cameras. The first 2 that I purchased were outdoor cameras. They both failed and have not worked for years. All the rest were MINIS and I installed them in protected areas or purchased protective covers for them. Two of those got fogged over. I believe the lenses fogged due to direct sunlight hitting them. Maybe someone will reach out to help me figure out why I can't install the new sync module which is supposed to work for all Blink devices, but I am not going to hold my breath... I have not found a way to get to customer support and at this point, I removed all of my cameras and put them in a box, and will most likely scrap them. I am too frustrated to deal with this now since I found out that I have cancer and a limited time left on this earth......

Review #1 - Date 11/10/2024 - "The Testing Phase": ----- Meaning I just got this & 1 of many New Gen 4 Outdoor Cameras. I have a huge Blink Camera System that consists of "8" Sync Modules (Including this one). So I have 8 Camera Zones that have a total of "23" Blink Cameras. All up and running seamlessly with usually no Drops or Offline Cameras. I do this so I can have some ARMED ALL THE TIME & Others ARMED ONLY When I Need Them, they are Inside & Outside of my house.. A Couple are EXTRA ZONES with extra cameras so they can be moved them around as or if needed. ----- I got this All-new Blink Sync Module XR — System Hub to see if it really works as they (Blink) say it dose. I am hopping it dose Because I would like a couple of Cameras Out Further from My House so I can See more of my land & A couple looking Back Towards My House. All my cameras are always plugged in and waiting or watching. I set up this All-new Blink Sync Module XR — System hub & I will Give it 4 Stars for now because I did just set it up and put a The Gen 4 Outdoor Camera (That came as a bundle) about 125' from the Sync Module, it was in my basement and had to go through 2 inside walls, 1 outside wall then out to the end of my fence. It worked the very first time. Not with great connections but it was more responsive than some of my other Cameras including Gen 4 Cameras that are closer & they all have 100% connection to there Sync Module 2 & Router. I will move the Sync Module Hub around my house hook it to a closer router ( I have 3). I will also PLUG the Gen 4 Camera in to a power supply (AS ARE ALL MY CAMERAS) & remove the batteries. I have noticed that ALL MY CAMERAS work better with a constant power supply. Blink Cameras are GREAT. I Love them & find them very dependable and at a very decent price when they are on sale. ----- I will update this review after a few weeks of testing.

Got my XR on friday hooked it up was a super easy process. Deleted the hub from the blink app it saved all the cameras to the account. All i had to do was add the new hub took a total of 3 minutes and presto all work great. My garage camera now responds immediately and has not dropped yet when it used to happen almost daily as hub is in my house and garage on adjacent property.

Software bugs, videos sometimes end after second or two regardless of settings.

I was able to fix the problem by cancelling the trial membership with the Beta person detection. When the problem occurred it always flag it as Person detection, even when it was disabled.

I tried to explain this to the phone tech support but when their menu steps didn’t reflect my menus and they started telling me to reboot my router I knew it was pointless.

I cancelled the trial membership, the Beta ended and so did the problem.

I have two systems set up on two different homes with several cameras and door bells. The system was good but not great. We had problems with several cameras working and then not working. Purchased the new Sync XR and bingo, it solved all our problems. Big difference with connections to cameras!
