Professional football is back. The 2024 NFL season kicks off tonight with a rematch of last season’s AFC championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens. The Chiefs won that game in Baltimore and went on to capture their second consecutive Super Bowl championship.

The Chiefs and Ravens are expected to be two of the biggest heavyweights in the conference again this year, each led by a two-time league MVP quarterback in Patrick Mahomes for the Chiefs and the Ravens’ Lamar Jackson. It’ll be the first step in the Chiefs’ quest to become the first NFL team to win three straight Super Bowls.

Global superstar and Chiefs superfan Taylor Swift will reportedly be in attendance. You can expect many cutaways to Swift cheering on boyfriend Travis Kelce during tonight’s broadcast and the first six weeks of the season. Swift doesn’t resume touring until Oct. 18, when the second US leg of her Eras Tour begins in Miami. In addition to preparing to head back out on the road, Swift has drawn up a few plays for Andy Reid and the KC offense, according to Mahomes.

The Ravens-Chiefs kickoff game is set to start tonight at 8:20 p.m. ET (5:20 p.m. PT). It’s available to watch and stream nationally on Peacock and also on your local NBC station via live TV streaming services.

Ravens vs. Chiefs game: When and where?

This Week 1 NFL game sees the Chiefs host the Ravens starting tonight at 8:20 p.m. ET (5:20 p.m. PT). The game will take place at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

How to watch Ravens vs. Chiefs

Although it takes place on a Thursday, this opening game is technically a part of NBC’s Sunday Night Football package and will air on NBC and stream on Peacock. After this week, Thursday Night Football games will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.

For the Ravens-Chiefs game and the rest of the Sunday Night Football schedule, you can watch your local NBC station with a cable or satellite TV subscription or with an over-the-air antenna. Most live TV streaming services such as YouTube TV and Hulu Plus Live TV also carry your local NBC station (see below).

If you don’t subscribe to a TV service with NBC and want to watch this game and the Sunday night slate this fall, you can sign up for Peacock Premium for $8 per month.

You can also subscribe to NFL Plus, the NFL’s own streaming service at $7 per month, but streams are limited to just watching on a phone or tablet (not a TV).
